Antique Ryan & Watson LIGHT DRAGOON .65 Flintlock CAVALRY Pistol 1776
REVOLUTIONARY WAR Era British Military Flintlock
Here we present an antique British Ryan & Watson Light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol, made in London, England. This pistol would have been carried by a member of the British Light Dragoons. Light Cavalry in the British Army began to be more highly developed and organized during this very period of the middle 1700s.
The overall condition is fair. Dark patina on the metal parts. The action does not have mainspring tension. The bore is dim and smooth. The stock has been repaired: much of the fore end is grafted; solid. This one has Birmingham proofs on the barrel. A thumb plate at the top of the stock has the date “1776” on it.
