Description:
For your consideration , A very Rare and Beautiful LC Smith 20 Gauge Skeet Special ! This Elsie  includes in the sale a letter documenting this particular firearm ,purchased from the LC Smith Collectors Assosciation , it lists this Elsie as Being ordered on Oct. 5 ,1938 and being finished on Nov. 1 ,1938 ! It features , as a 20 Gauge Skeet Special , Feather Weight Frame ,Ejectors , Non select Hunter One Trigger with the original 27" Barrels and it matches the letter perfectly ! This Elsie is wearing a Gorgeous Highly figured Straight English Stock with a Beautiful Skeleton Steel type Butt Treatment , it is thought by most of the people who have handled the gun that the stock is a replacement ,all agree it is done to the highest standard and there is no mention of the stock or the special Butt Treatment in the letter so ..... there we are who knows ! It does mention in the letter that standard measurements for the Skeet Special were 1 1/4 X 1 1/2 X 14 ,this gun is 1 1/4 X 1 1/2 X 13 9/16 and the total weight is 6 Lb. 8 Oz. ! This firearm functions as it should ,and is in good overall condition and is Absolutely Gorgeous ! I recently had a new Safety slide professionally installed and the safety works fine ! When the Shotgun is cocked and ready to fire you must manually set the Safety slide onto the SAFE position as the Skeet guns were designed to operate and when you do the safety is snug and solid ,when you slide the safety slide to the FIRE position there is a little bit of play in the safety slide itself ! I am told this is normal although I have never owned another LC Smith Skeet gun to say for sure ! This gun locks up nice and tight as all LC Smith Guns do and is just wonderful in hand , there a a couple of very tiny marks on the wood and bluing and a couple of small scratches on the barrels , I will post in my last picture a couple of light scratches at the muzzle of the right barrel , not much to speak of but I like to show as much as I can to the buyer ! If you would like to discuss this gun or have any questions or to discuss reasonable offers , PLease contact me through GI or give me a call on my Cell at " 724-205-1076 " ,Leave a message and I will return your call as I do not answer my phone if I don't recognize the Number ! All contacts will get a reply back from me in the order they are received and as soon as possible ! First person that commits to purchase will own the gun with a Three Day Inspection , Buyer will Pay for shipping back to me should you decide not to keep the gun ! Thank You for your interest in my Sale ! My asking Price is $$$$$.00 ,PLus $75.00 Shipping to your C&R or to Your FFL !

UPDATED INFORMATION !!!!! PLEASE READ
To all who may have an interest in this firearm , since I listed this firearm  ,I have actually been contacted by the Gentleman who's father used to own this firearm and he brought me up to date with sone new information ! When I listed the gun as noted in my description it was always thought by most that it could have been a restock , I had always hoped it hadn't and priced the gun accordingly by that and also recent sales I could find of the few 20 Ga. Skeet Specials I could locate ! It seems the Gentlemans father had a Good Friend who sold Wood Blanks and this guns original stock had been shortened for a young lady so they picked out a Beautiful piece of Wood for the Stock and also the Beavertail Forend and had a True Professional restock the gun with both pieces of wood so the Forend Wood and the Stock Wood  would match ,then the Gun Smith custom made the Skeleton Butt and finished the gun per the measurements and Butt Treatment ordered ! With this said ,I would imagine in todays world the cost would be close to what I am asking for the gun but as we know Non Original wood is not a Premium in a collectible Double Shotgun ! So as of 3/10/2024 I am lowering my original asking price of the $$$$$.00 to  $$$$$.00 Plus the shipping cost listed in my ad ! Thank You for reading my Update and again if you would like to discuss the firearm ,Please give me a call 724 -205-1076 or contact me through GI. !  Russ
