Description:
Built August of 1899 on a 1-1/2 frame with 26” Titanic steel brls(now reduced to 24-1/4”), 2-3/4” chambers, that have matted concave top rib with small brass front bead and usual rib legend. There is a small ring of engraving at the breech end of the brls. Brl flats show unstruck brl weight 3lbs. 5oz. Splinter forearm checkered in point and diamond pattern with near full engraved steel tip, Deeley latch release, and iron. The casehardened boxlock receiver is very nicely engraved with detailed game scenes at front of sides, “PARKER BROS” in banner all surrounded by well executed scroll. Beaded brl fences which are engraved with a single bird and scroll on each side. Top of frame, top lever, and top tang with scroll and border engraving. Bottom of frame with scroll coverage and 3 running elk engraved in detail at center of trigger plate. Trigger guard with burst of scroll in panel on bow, SN at tang. Gun made with double triggers, extractors, auto safety. The gold capped pistol grip walnut buttstock with checkered side panels, carved fleur-de-lis, and terminates with its original skeleton buttplate. Accompanied by a PGCA research letter showing the gun shipped to L.C. Clark of Southington, CT for J.F. Pratt. Original shipped with 26” Titanic Steel brls, built on a 1-1/2 frame and chokes specified "RH CYLINDER, LH CLOSE”. The letter also shows the gun having been returned several times for repair and maintenance.

This gun was used and enjoyed for many many years and remains in about good as used condition by Mr. Pratt and subsequent owners. Bores are generally good with beginning orange peel ahead of chambers. Stocks with about 70% of their original checkering remaining and shows countless hunting bumps and marks throughout. Toe is slightly pushed in. Buttplate with some engraving visible. Engraving is mostly very good and the gun is absolutely as found and still has good original screw slots. Gun remains tight and on face. Mechanics are good. This gun is very much a worthy candidate for mild cleaning and restoration. As it sits, this is a very rare Parker being the only one documented in this configuration!

This gun is recognized in the "Parker Story" as the only BH Grade ever shipped in this configuration. It is honest as the day is long. The gun is priced at $4695 plus shipping to your FFL.
