WINCHESTER Model 1894 .30-30 WCF Lever Action Carbine C&R WORLD WAR I Era “WF&CO” Marked Here we present a C&R Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine, made in 1916 in New Haven, Connecticut. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. This carbine has a crescent buttstock instead of the typical carbine style, and the left side is marked with “WF & CO/EXP/529”. There is also a string tag around the bottom loop of the lever with “WF&CO” markings. There is also an “S” on the underside of the receiver, directly beneath the serial number. The overall condition is fair. The action is excellent and the bore is in very good condition: clean, bright, and with strong rifling. The exterior of the gun makes it obvious how hard it was used and that it likely saw some weathering. The walnut stock shows a stable split at the toe, and some cracking around the wrist/top tang. There is a split at the front of the forestock directly under the magazine tube. An interesting piece! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 20 inches. Caliber: .30 Winchester Center Fire (.30-30) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R Licensee.
