Description:
This rare 1985 DA/SA semi-automatic pistol is a SIG Sauer Model P230 chambered in 9mm Police. This West German made firearm has a fixed blade white round dot front sight, a dovetailed blade square notch, white square dot rear sight, a left-side decocking lever, rear slide serrations, and textured black composite grip panels. The barrel is 3.6 inches long and the overall length is 6.6 inches. It sports a date code of "JF" which equates to 1985. The bluing is in fair to good condition, with several wear and light handling marks throughout the finish. The grip panels are in good condition, showing some handling wear, but with no chips, cracks or scratches observable. It comes with a generic black hard plastic padded case, and three 7-round magazines total. The 9x18mm Police cartridge was a joint venture between Dynamit Nobel and SIG. It was developed in the mid 1960s as a high-performance replacement for the 380 ACP handguns in police and military service at the time. It is not a modification of an existing cartridge but rather a blending of the 9mm Luger and the 9x18mm Ultra which was developed by the German Air Force during the Second World War. 9X18MM
