very ornate engraved percussion coat pistol looks to be French from the design anengraving Antque circa 1800 to1850. Pistol has 9 inch steel barrel with the original brass tipped ramrod-cleaning rod,.the rear of the brass lock is engrved with 2 castles and one tower and a small grotesque mask the lock front has a greek soldier and uther militaria, the brass escutchen on the backof the stock has a greek mythical figure fighting a snake deeply engraved The brass triggerguard has an engraving of a soldier in mideviil uniform loading his musket The brass Butt cap has a soldier holding along speer and possbly a sword in the other hand, The brass sideplate Has at least 3 horsemen with full armor and additional figures and militaria.
The steel barril has alot of dark bue finish with no corosion or pittingThe stock has been very nicely refinished and has no dents splits etc and is very fine condition, mechaniks are perfect with 2 clicks for cocking A very elaboratlyengraved gntlemans coat pistol
