Description:
Century Arms Model PW 87 Chinese 12 gauge shotgun. This is a Chinese made replica of a Winchester 1887 lever action shotgun. According to what I have read, it was originally a John Moses Browning design done at the insistence of Winchester because they only had lever action rifles at the time and wanted a lever action shotgun. Apparently Browning did not really like the design and had already concluded a pump action would be better. Lately they have been used in Cowboy action shooting and are sometimes modified to be better for that type of shooting. At the time I bought this one they had a reputation for not feeding and ejecting very well. After some deburring and cycling this one works. I had not fired it for several years, so I took it out a few days ago and fired 6 rounds and it worked okay. It has been fired a few rounds less than one box of 25. The barrel is 19" modified choke. It has a 2 3/4" chamber. It holds 5 rounds plus 1 in the chamber. Probably not a shotgun one would use all the time, but it is an interesting design. And this is a cheap way to have one. A real one would be very expensive. It has it's original box and owner's manual. Shipping will be $45.
