Superb early A Grade gun from the Dana J. Tauber Estate collection made with 30" Krupp Fluid Steel barrels. #2 weight barrels. Case hardened action is nicely engraved in early A Grade pattern. Beautifully Blued trigger guard has SN on tang. Lightly fiddle figured European walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock and terminates with its original hard rubber buttplate. Matching splinter forend has Deeley type release.
As was the case with nearly everything Dana collected, this gun remains exceptionally fine and all original. Bbls retain over 97% of their lustrous early type blue with only a few handling marks. Action retains a strong 95% of its gossy original case color, thinned just a touch on forend iron and bottom. Trigger guard and forend latch retain nearly all of their original blue. Stocks retain nearly all of their orig finish with some light marks, mostly on left side of butt. Checkering lightly worn. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. A truly superb 115+ year old Fox!
