These CARVED IVORY GRIPS are never seen for sale, and when they are, the price will be in the $3500 to $4000 range. THIS SALE IS FOR GRIPS ONLY!
Both sides have a mellow yellow tone, that is only caused by a century of exposure to oil, heat, sweaty hands, and light hand wear.
These are NOT more recent creations, using recently-harvested ivory, where some fool has artificially aged and cracked them.
The only chips are a small one at the left toe, and an even smaller one at right bottom (clearly shown in the pictures).
The upper grips are either flush with the rear of frame, or proud to it (again shown in pictures).
It appears that the escutcheon planted in the right grip was done properly - that is to say it was threaded into the carved side (and will not pull out!). And that is very important to know.
Comes with the original screw, as shown.

No International sales. Not being sold as a shooter, but as a functional collector’s Colt SAA. If you want to shoot any older Colt, first take it to a gunsmith and have it checked out.
