***SOLD*** Investment grade Winchester 1885 High Wall single shot rifle in ultra rare 40-90 SS caliber. There were less than 750 1885s produced in this caliber making it one of the rarest ever made! In addition, this incredible rifle has several special order features including a set trigger, special order 32" length barrel, and special order massive profile #5 contour barrel. This thing is a beast!
S/N 65820 made in 1894 which qualifies as an antique.
The condition remains excellent with very strong original bluing throughout, with the wood retaining nearly all of its original finish as well, showing only scattered light handling marks and no cracks or repairs.
The generally subdued case colors of this particular model's receiver remain much as issued with only slight fading, the colors on the steel crescent buttplate showing somewhat more loss.
Rare factory issued sights consist of a windage adjustable front with removable insert, a sporting rear, and a precision tang sight.
All mechanical functions are perfectly crisp and functional, including the set trigger, and it has a mirror bore.
Comes complete with a Cody Firearms Museum letter of provenance.
