Description:
Serial #442978, .30-40 Krag, 30" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has trace amounts of mild freckling within the grooves near the muzzle. This rifle retains 75-80% of the original blue, with some mild silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the high edges and projections. The receiver has a mottled, pewter-gray patina, with traces of blue on protected areas. The bolt retains most of the original armory bright finish, with some mild freckling on the handle, and traces of the original bright nitre blue on the extractor. A Model 1903 rear sight with flip-up aperture is installed. The walnut stock and handguard are in generally fine condition with some small handling marks and minor blemishes scattered about the original oil finish, and crisp "JSA / 1903" cartouche on the left side. This is a very nice Model 1898 Krag that rates very good plus condition overall. FFL or C&R
