Description:
This is a great condition Savage model 99, that chambers the 250-3000 cartdrige. This popular lever action rifle is factory drilled and taped to facilitate the mounting of a scope. It has the brass shell counter, with a 6+1 capacity. It shows S/N 753837, and lever code 3F, which indicates a manufacture date of 1954. At 70 years old, she is in great condition, with 98% original deep blue on the metal, and vivid case colors on the lever. When I removed the scope base, I was surprised to find an S stamped between the front base screws, which my gunsmith believes it is a factory inspection mark. I have seen this S mark on other Savage rifles, (but why in this prticular spot)? The nicely figured, checkered walnut stock is in excellent condition, with no cracks or repairs, (and only a few minor impressions visible) with no sling lugs ever added. The bore of the 24" barrel is excellent, and the original sight package is intact. The script, S/N, and proof marks are crisp. It has the original butt plate and pistol grip cap from the factory. This rare 99 would be a centerpiece to your collection, and be hard to improve upon. $1975.00 with Redfield base and rings, or $1900.00 without. Rifle shiped UPS insured, to the lower 48 states at my expense. Shiped from my FFL to yours, and is C&R eligible. Payment by Certified funds, unless othertwise agreed.  Dan at 608 751-7194
