Description:
This is a great example of late 19th century craftsmanship. Likely from Germany or Austria, they were the "do all" firearm for hunters at the time. Rabbit, deer, or fowl could be taken with ease, with just one gun. This one has 16ga side by side over 8mm (exact cartridge is unknown). Two triggers fire the shotgun, and a lever were we would usually have the break action lock is the selector for the rifle. Cock the right hammer, slide the selector to the left and fire the rifle. This one incorporates a flip up rear sight for rifle shooting or fold down for shotgun work. The stock has storage for 4 rifle rounds as well. And, the lever to open the action in under the trigger guard. The left barrel has a ding, but over all, for the age of the gun it is in very good shape. Normal wear and tear, but over all, a handsome Drilling! Best guess on the date of manufacture is late 1890s (nitro proofed barrels) Unknown
