Description:
M1 Garand by Harrington & Richardson. Serial number 5710021 indicates that this was the first rifle assembled by H&R in January of 1956 (per Scott Duff's book "The M1 Garand Serial Numbers & Data Sheets" of 1995). All parts appear to be correct H&R including the original H&R barrel dated 12-55 (T.E. of 3.0 & M.E. 2.0). The stock has a DOD cartouche and the "P" proof stamp on the wrist, but no other cartouches. So the rifle may have never been issued and/or was very gently used. It also appears that the exceptionally nice stock has been very lightly sanded to smooth out a well done finish without disturbing the cartouches. The parkerizing is in excellent condition,. Includes a very minty Utica Cutlery 10" Bayonet with Scabbard More pictures are available.
