Description:
This is a very good Civil War Era Colts Patent cap tin with the original blue wrapper and outstanding label.
These are extremely hard to find in any condition but this one is in very good condition with the wrapping on
all sides, bottom and top showing only normal handling marks. This cap tin will go with the 1851 Navy, the
Revolving Colt Rifle or the 1860 Army. You will also find these tins cased with a number of other high-condition
Colt revolvers. I have included a picture of a double-cased set of 1851 Navies with an estimated value of
$75,000 with this same-style cap tin. I asked about buying one of these tins at the Colt Show and the price
was $1700.
