Description:
George Madis wrote in "The Winchester Book" that carbines with special features were rarely ordered. This one is in fine condition retaining most of a factory quality refinish. 22 inch round barrel chambered in 30 Gov. 06 caliber with a very good bright bore with good rifling. Sights include a pinned blade Marble/Sheard Beaded blade front and Lyman receiver peep sight. Barrel retains most thinning blue. Receiver has most blue remaining with typical carry point wear. Special order saddle ring absent as well as hand guard and barrel that lack provisions for a rear sight. Crisp tight action. Deluxe checkered straight grip stock is in good condition with just a few light handling mars. Carbine style trapdoor buttplate has turned to a mostly grey patina. A desirable Deluxe Winchester 1895 with several special order features to fill a whole in your Winchester collection. Made in 1914.
