Description:
The medium-size rimfire Smith & Wesson Model 10 is a Classic Series 6-round 38 S&W Special +P blued steel revolver mated to a splendid wooden grip. The barrel is a concealable 4" long. This single-action/double-action (SA/DA) gun's overall length is 8.9", and it weighs 34.6 ounces (2.2 pounds). The gun has only one standard configuration. In front is a front ramp sight while the rear sight is also integral. The frame, fluted cylinder and barrel are all high strength carbon steel with a nice, blued finish. The grip is elegantly curved in front of an even greater curved rear palmswell. The trigger guard is ovoid followed by a very deep undercut. The diamond checkered wooden grip contrasts nicely against the blued steel frame. A few other notable points: the gun has a classic style thumbpiece, a color case-hardened hammer and a color case-hardened trigger! Case-hardening process gives these parts a gorgeous multicolor patina. The hammer spur is horizontally grooved with light serrations. The gun also has a hammer block safety. The Model 10 is one of Smith & Wesson's Medium K-frames. These frames have existed in some fashion for over 100 years. The Model 10 started production in the late-1950s. That's loads of heritage! So, the gun comes by the classic lines and harmonious proportions rather naturally. And with all Smith & Wesson's experience, it's not surprising that fit and finish are to be appreciated. .38 S&W Special
