Description:
High condition full sidelock JP Sauer Drilling (16/16/8x58 Sauer) from 1925. Excellent scroll and game scene engraving. Krupp three ring fluid steel barrels. Original claw mounting system with a correct time period scope. Clear optics with a single vertical post reticle. Shotgun barrels have 2 3/4" chambers with mirror bores. Right barrel measures .662 with 22/1000 choke. The left is .660 with h 32/1000 choke. The rifle barrel has a perfect bore and is chambered in the 8 x 58 Sauer. This takes the .318 bullet. The 8 x 58 Sauer cartridge with the .318 bullet is available from Reeds Ammunition for $74 for a box of twenty. This is a well made drilling with shotgun barrels that have back action sidelocks while the rifle barrel is the typical trigger plate action with a set trigger and rifle barrel activation by the sliding lever on the top tang. When the rifle barrel is activated the rear sight flips up. The iron sights can be used when the scope is on the gun as it has a see thru provision to the scope mount. Small dent on the scope objective bell as shown in photo 10. Lockup is the typical underbite with a Greener style third fastener. Cartridge trap in the stock. Weight of the gun with the scope is 8 LBS 13 1/4 OZ. Without the scope the weight is 7 LBS 12 1/4 OZ. Shipping is $75.
