Description:
We are offering for sale an Enfield Ishapore bolt action rifle chambered in 7.62mm. This rifle is marked "G.R.I." and dated 1944. It has a reinforced GRENADE LAUNCHER STOCK. This rifle was purchased from a large collection and is still coated in cosmolene. This rifle remains uncleaned in fully functioning condition.
25" barrel is good with scattered wear; I did clean the bore out and it remains excellent with crisp rifling. The action is good and correctly marked. Action band is marked "G.R.I. 1944 NO.1 MKIII". CAI import marked. Bolt action functions flawlessly. Both breech and bolt are heavily coated in cosmolene. The original stock and handguard are very good with scattered field wear; No breaks or cracks. This stock has been reinforced with wire wrap and larger screws designating that it was made for a Grenade Launcher. Shoulder stock is marked "23" on left side. Metal buttplate shows wear; stock repair above buttplate.
