Description:
For sale is a rare Long Lee Mk1* made in 1901 for the British Army. This is a predecessor to the famous No1 Mk3 and No4 Mk1 Lee Enfield family of rifles. The rifle is in excellent condition and the metal retains a deep bluing in the majority of its parts. The stock also is in excellent shape with the only blemish being a small crack in front of the receiver, above the trigger and there is a deep scratch in front of the rear barrel band. The bore is great and is very bright, but it is slightly frosted towards the muzzle. The serial numbers on the bolt and receiver match, but the rear sight does not, and the forestock and nose cap do not have a serial stamp.
