Description:
Westley Richards, Droplock action, 12 gauge SxS shotgun, circa 1920’s.  Of note from Westley Richards is that the configuration of this gun with the raised panels on the action, the square back (not scalloped), clipped fences, and this engraving pattern were called The “Travers” Gun.  Conjecture is that the gun was so named because of a well-known shooting club on Travers Island near New York!  Some examples have been found with “Travers” engraved on top of the barrels.

The engraved action has a hinged floor plate with correctly numbered drop locks in the gun.  Double triggers, automatic ejectors, automatic safety, rib extension and side clips (clipped fences).

It has 26” solid rib barrels.  The right bore is .738” with .009” choke (I/C) and minimum wall thickness of .035”. The left bore is .734” with .030” choke (Full) also with a minimum wall thickness of .035”.  Both have 2 ¾” (70mm) chambers.  Bores are bright and shiny.

The stock has a 14 1/8” LOP over what could be an original leather faced recoil pad with 1 5/8” DAC and 2 ¾” DAH.  3/8" right hand cast.

Very interesting Droplock in fine condition.  Weighs 6 lbs. 5 oz.
