Antique Ornate TURKISH Flintlock HORSE Pistol
London Marked 18th Century Pistol with Unknown Markings
Here we present an antique Turkish or Ottoman Flintlock Horse Pistol, made circa the 18th Century. This pistol was designed as a fighting pistol. It is large and features a 14-1/8 inch barrel with a .64 caliber bore. The design of the pommel is Middle Eastern in style, used as a club when the single shot was expended. The brass hardware and iron lock and barrel of this pistol are engraved throughout with various scroll designs. The stock is ornately engraved with Middle Eastern scroll throughout. Here is a great 18th century flintlock that no doubt has some unbelievable tales to tell!
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The markings are clear. The stock is in great shape. The bore is smooth and dark. The action is strong.
