Payment Types Accepted: Postal or Bank money order Description: US model 1842, H Aston 54 caliber percussion pistol. H Aston of Middteton, Conn. was a contractor who made this model for the US army. I believe this model was the first percussion pistol made for the US army. 6000 were manufactured in 1851-1852. It was also the last percussion pistol to see service. It was a well designed, robust single shot horse pistol. The functioning Lock is marked A Aston & co., US 1851 Middtn Conn.. the barrel length is 8:5 inches and overall length of 14.5 inches. The walnut stock is in very good condition. The functioning lock and barrel are a grey brown color with scattered pitting. The remaining parts are brass with a brown patina.
