Description:
General Specs: Browning, Year 2008, 28 Gauge, 6 lbs., Chokes M/F, LOP 14 3/4", DAH 2 1/8", DAC 1 7/16"
Serial Number: 324MM03485

The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most brilliant designs.  Produced in plain-jane field grades to the most elaborately engraved and finely stocked shotguns ever seen, production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when traditional production stopped.  Production continued in the FN Custom Shop with the Presentation Series through 1984.  Today, most Americans are unaware that you can still buy a Belgium made, hand-fitted, hand-engraved Superposed Browning B25, as they are imported into the USA by Browning, and most are sold in Great Britain and Europe.  In fact, 20% of all guns at the British “castle” shoots (driven bird shoots) are Browning B25 guns, making it the second most popular gun of any maker being used by the elite gunners in Great Britain.  This amazing B25 is the “Traditional” model, sn324MM03485 built in 2008, and remains new and unfired with no primer marks on the standing breech face of the action.  This is a well-thought out Superposed, with 27.5” M/F field choked barrels, the action is rounded like the Superlight action, fully case colored, hand engraved (shipping documents states the engraver is M. Delva), showing no wear or handling marks.  The wood is nicely figured English walnut with very attractive fiddleback figure and the most desirable long tang configuration with a diminutive field style forend.  The gun weighs 6lbs. and balances 1/8” ahead of the hinge pin, and nothing has been altered on the gun since it left the FN factory.  The finishes are all factory original, 100% new, showing no wear.  The mechanics are as you would expect for a new, unfired gun…tight on hinge and top lever that is way right of center.  The gun came to us in a proper box, but it appears to have the wrong serial number, so the family we acquired it from is looking for the correct box.  We are not sure if it is factory correct to the gun.  All the original paperwork documenting the gun is included as shown in the photos.  The Traditional can still be custom ordered at a cost of $18,000 and almost a two year wait for delivery.  You can own this one at a fraction of that price.  What a gorgeous and different Browning Superposed with the case-colored action and dynamite figured wood.  Don’t miss out on this perfect little bird gun for the coming upland season.  Thanks for looking!
