This is one of the more rarely encountered U.S. percussion revolvers carried during the American Civil War. The Joslyn Army revolver is a .44- cal, 5 shot, side-hammer, single action percussion revolver. Only about 3,000 Joslyn revolvers were ever manufactured. This 3 digit example has 8" barrel and is in .44 caliber. Serial number 309 and is all matching: grips, frame, cylinder, loading lever, and loading lever catch. Nice barrel address. Action functions nicely. Overall a gray / brown patina with some light pitting in areas. All in all a very nice example of a rare Civil War Revolver seldom seen for sale on the market.
