Copy of a Rare US Martial Arm; Only 1,020 Originals Made!
Here we present an antique Recreation of a Springfield Armory U.S. Model 1855 Carbine. As these are very rare and expensive, this was put together to fill a gap in a US military small arms collection. Rather than a .54 caliber rifled bore this one has a .67 caliber smoothbore. Workmanship is a bit crude but the form is there.
The overall condition is good. The action is functional. The bore is smooth and patinated. The stock has a chip at the rear of the lock, a split at the left stock flat and a repair on each side forward of the single barrel band.
