Historic 1894 Wells Fargo Express Agent Shotgun bearing San Francisco Ca. Markings W/ Agents Badge and Initials (J.W.K.) Wells Fargo Property stamped on stock with numbered Wells Fargo Agent badge riveted to stock marked "SAN FRAN" with WF & CO markings on stock with #35 stamped on badge and stock.. "W.Richards, London Fine Twist" on barrel rib.
Gun is in operating condition with ornate scroll and game bird engraving covering receiver and side plates. Stock and splinter type forearm is hand checkered with grip cap, barrels are showing some shine on bores and could be made to fire Black powder cartridges, exposed hammers and double triggers working as intended. Game scene hard rubber butt plate is cracked. Gun break action locks up tight on closing with no shake or looseness in barrels.
A great shooting piece of American West history to display with your Westen investment arms collection, or to complement a Wells Fargo revolver. Gun is pictured with a period locking Wells Fargo steel box that is not included with sale but can be purchased separately for your display.
