The Walther P.38 was initially developed as a new military pistol in the mid-1930s to replace the WWI Luger design. Given the nickname “Pistole 38” by the Wehrmacht who adopted Walthers design in 1938, the P.38 then became standard issue in WWII and went into full production by mid-1940. Post-war, Walther P.38 production transitioned into commercial sales, while military issued pistols were designated P1. This Walther P.38, sn306409, was imported by Interarms in 1968 and appears unfired. Possessing 99% factory bluing throughout the frame, barrel, and slide, it bears matching serial numbers, a mirror bore, and factory proof markings. Additionally, it is complemented by its original case which contains the manual, test target, cleaning rod, and two magazines in factory new condition. Thanks for looking!
