Description: This M1851 British revolver was made by Robert Adams of London. These types of revolvers were used in the Crimean War as well as the Civil War. This revolver is complete and all original. The revolver is a British 54 bore. It has a 6 1/2" barrel and is about 12" long overall. The overall condition is very good. The barrel makers mark and address is fully legible. The serial number appears on the right side of the frame as well as on the cylinder. London proof marks appear on the cylinder and the barrel. The bore displays rifling and some metal roughness and is fairly clean. The action works great. The checkered grips are very good. The metal has a silver gray patina. The metal is mostly smooth with only some light pitting on a small area on the cylinder. The nipples are very good. All the chambers are still vented. Overall I am probably under describing it. For the money its about the nicest example you will probably find. SOLD Antique: Yes |
