SHILOH SHARPS, MADE IN MONTANA, 1874 "MONTANA ROUGHRIDER" .45-70 CUSTOM FANCY OCT. SPORTER. I received this rifle from the original purchaser who said he put less than 20 round through it since taking delivery in 2009. He explained he's now simply not in good enough physical shape to be shooting any more, so it had to go. This one is a beauty. The Montana Roughrider is a pistol grip version without a cheek piece. This one has extra fancy very dense and dark walnut, checkered steel shotgun butt plate, pewter forend tip, polished screws with brass escutcheons, beautiful bone-charcoal pack harden case colored finish (receiver, hammer, lock plate, lever, butt plate etc.), double set triggers, 30" standard octagon barrel (rifle weighs 11 lbs), full buckhorn Lawrence ladder rear barrel sight with an extra new semi-buckhorn Lawrence ladder sight, Montana Vintage #111 globe front sight that will take inserts matched with an MVA #130 "short range" vernier tang sight adjustable for windage and elevation out to approx. 300 yards (an excellent hunting sight) plus an additional MVA #108 "Mid-Range" vernier staff (good to approx. 800 yards) that will fit the same base that the mounted #130 staff utilizes. With these options, this rifle has a current catalog price of about $5,000 plus a couple of years backorder wait time with probable price increases. This rifle is about like new in the original hard case in which it was originally shipped, with owners manual and MVA sight info cards etc. Price on this one is $4500.
