Scherping Double Rifle of Hanover, Germany. Scherping retained a Royal Appointment ("Maker to the Court'') and made high quality sporting shotguns and rifles. This 9 X 57R double rifle is no exception. Chopper lump, Nitro Proofed, Fluid Steel 24" barrels with perfect bores and well defined lands and groves. Action is bolstered and scalloped with cocking indicators, Greener style third fastener and a double underbite. Reinforced horn trigger guard with matching grip cap. Auto safety. Front set trigger. Extractors. Fixed rear sight with two flip ups. Well figured wood with sharp checkering. Claw mounted quick release scope - Schmidt & Bender 1.1 - 4. x 24 Scope with perfect optics. Gun is tight on face. No loose ribs - barrels ring nicely. No cracks to the wood. Included is a box of Bertram Brass. Plenty of brass is available for purchase. Weight of the gun without the scope is 7 LBS 4 OZ. LOP is 14 7/8". Shipping is $100.
