Description:
This is an Enfield Long Branch no 4 Mk 1 Sporterized rifle chambered in 303 British. The metal is not altered, but the stock is cut down. Making this a good possibility for a stock replacement to bring it back to original condition. the barrel has external pitting where the top wood would have been. IT has two groove rifling with a reflective bore. the cruent forend has a gap between the wood and the trigger metal. good smooth bolt. probably has some excessive head space as most of these do. (I do not have gauges to check it) the price reflects this concern. oh yes and a lousily fitter rubber butt pad that is now hard as a rock!
