SOLD This is the first model Carbine boot for the Mc Clellan saddle. This boot is in unissued condition showing no wear or use. The Rock Island Arsenal stamp is very clear. The leather is very solid with no deteriation. The stiching is strong with no separation. The Boot Straps are intact with no issues or damage. The body shape is correct with no crushing or poor storage damage. These 1885 models were short lived as they had service issues due to the weight of the carbine. The 1886 models corrected these issues. These 1885 models are fairly rare today and highly collectable items from the Indian Wars. This "Boot" is a very prime example of this rare Carbine Boot for the military collector. Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
