Description:
This is a full box, 20 correct rounds, of .45-85 Express ammunition manufactured by Winchester pre-1898 with 300 grain Express bullets having the center "x" marked copper tube. The two piece, blue Express labeled box has the specific call outs stating the cartridges are designed for the Model 1886 in .45-90 as no rifle were specifically cataloged for it. The box is solid with professional repairs to the inside edges and some small remnants of earlier glue repair. The primary label rates about excellent with some minor edge flaking and mild age soiling. The cartridges are all correctly head stamped and have the correct express bullets showing slight age darkening with several heads showing varying degrees of age tarnish. A near excellent looking box that will add to any serious Winchester collection.
