The Model 1895 was the first Winchester rifle to feature a box magazine, and the last design by John Browning. It was designed for hunting and military use, President Theodore Roosevelt used an 1895 chambered in .405 WCF on a safari to East Africa in 1909. This model was made in 1912. .405 Winchester
