"Serial 327712. Made in 1925. 38 Special caliber with a 4" barrel. This gun is in excellent condition with 97% of the original blue. This gun is Factory Engraved and Pictured on Page 405 of The Book of Colt Engraving by R. L. Wilson. The grips are factory Ivories with medallions. This gun comes with numerous correspondence and factory letters. This gun comes with a letter from legendary dealer Arnold Marcus Chernoff when he sold this gun in 1984. The owner at the time Mr. James Macnish wrote Colt a letter asking for some clarification from the previous letter and Colt responded and gave an updated letter. This gun letters as seen and was eventually sold to Arlington, Massachusetts police chief Thomas Urquhart. There is a notation in the final letter that the letters “APD" were engraved on the strap. Whether this was the top, front or back strap is not listed. There are no letters of APD on any of the straps and no indication that there ever were.
