This is the 2nd Model Vest Pocket Safety Hammer revolver manufactured by Harrington & Richardson marked "MADE / IN U.S.A." on the left frame indicating a manufacture date between 1918-1941. In excellent condition the frame, cylinder and barrel retain about 96-98% of the original bright nickel finish showing scattered light handling marks and fine bubbling throughout, with an area of finish loss around the gripframe showing oxidation staining under direct light. The trigger and triggerguard retain 99% original blue and show some light freckling and handling marks, and the patented spurless hammer shows nice case-hardened colors. This example wear a pair of factory mother-of-pearl grips that are excellent except for a chip missing from the heel of the right panel which exposes the retention pin of the frame and fit slightly shy of grip frame. Interestingly the "2" in the serial number was struck upside down. The action is smooth with proper timing and a crisp trigger. A neat little Vest Pocket that remains in high condition with rarely seen pearl grips. FFL or C&R SOLD |
