This is a 1905-made rifle that has about 70-75% of the original blue remaining on the barrel and magazine tube, with the balance turned to a mellow plum-brown patina, and some mild silvering at the muzzle and along the high and exposed edges. The frame has a mottled plum-brown patina throughout, with some fading along the edges and on the lever and hammer. The walnut forend and buttstock are in very good-fine shape with small handling marks and minor blemishes scattered throughout, as well as a single chip missing from the top of the wrist along the left side of the tang. The action functions smoothly and the rifle rates very good condition overall. The rifle is accompanied by a 2017-date Winchester Factory Letter that confirms the configuration and lists a shipping date of October 14, 1905, as part of Order #30765 (no further information available). This is a very nice Model 1892, in the preferred chambering, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R; SOLD |
