Description:
I am offering a museum quality set of Bavarian/German m1826/42 Horse Pistols and pommel holsters. Each pistol has a 9” barrel and is 15” overall. They are .69 smoothbore. The bores are good. The stocks are very good and have light handling dings. The metal has a smooth, silver gray patina. Both pistols function properly. The pommel holsters are expertly made reproductions. They are based on the saddle holsters used by dragoons 1840/1850. The covers are faux bear skin. According to Bill Edward’s Book, Civil War Guns, an example of these pistols is on display in The Smithsonian Institution’s Civil War Collection and they might have been some of the horse pistols imported early in the War. This set would be a center piece in most any “War Room”. 60 day Layaway is an option with 40% down and the remainder split over 60 days..
