This listing is for a Marlin 1895SS in 45-70 Govt. This rifle is unfired NIB condition.
It comes with a 22" barrel with a 3/4 length tubular magazine. The barrel is marked "THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CY. USA / MOD. 1895SS MICRO-GROOVE BARREL CAL. 45/70 GOV'T." The upper left of the barrel is stamped with the circle JM proof. It is equiped with a flip-up semi buckhorn "U" notched rear elevator sight that is dovetailed into the top of the barrel. The front sight is a hooded white bead.
The stock is a two piece configuration with satin finish and checkered pistol grip with a black grip cap and the butt pad has a mounted Marlin cowboy logo in the center. This a 100% original gun and made in 1997 in unfired NIB condition.
Have you heard the old saying, "you can't take it with you"? Well thats where I'm at and it is time to empty out the safes. My loss is your gain. There may be several of these guns out there but very few, if any, in this pristine condition.
