This is a Very Good + 5th model Burnside carbine. It has a 54 Cal. rifled bore and fires a long taporing Cartridge. Use the photos to judge the grade. Good Cartouche.Although delivery started in 1863 the 5th model has the 1864 patent date. 63,0000 of the were issued to Federal Calvory troops.until 1865.
