Batson masterpiece "ALAMO," Southwest style Bowie-type knife with a 10-3/8" high carbon steel blade from 1-1/8" stock and over 2-1/2" at the widest part, rare iron guard with half penny finial and flat balls terminal, leather covered red cedar sheath. Blade and guard are "Forged Fire Finished" as was the original which is on display in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. This knife can also be seen in Madison Grant's The Knife In Homespun America on page 49. A leather fringe at the top acts as a headdress of the scabbard and the front is ornamented with red, white and turquuoise beadwork. The pattern consists of two rows of turquoise diamonds running vertically down the sheath on a white background.
