Description:
Serial #288334, .257 Roberts, 24" barrel with an excellent bright bore. This is a 1954-made rifle that has retained 80-85% of the original blue, with some areas of mild fading along the barrel, and the balance of the fading occurring on the receiver. Some further blue loss is present on the handle and bearing surfaces of the bolt. The original iron sights are installed, the front sight hood is still present, and the filler screws are all in place. The checkered walnut stock has numerous small handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout, as well as a single small bruise on the left side of the forend checkering. The original metal buttplate is still in place, as are the original sling swivels. This is a very good pre-’64 Model 70 overall, in great hunting condition, and chambered in a fabulous deer caliber.
