This is an exquisitely embellished pistol that has a two-level pan with sliding cover allowing the user to fire the top barrel first, then the lower barrel. The barrels themselves have extensive gold decorations at their breeches behind the wedding band transitions. Two silver bands are present at the breech and muzzles, the latter has engraved Turkish Crescent decorations on top and bottom. The lock has extensive foliate embellishments in gold as well. The walnut stock is liberally decorated with delicate silver wire inlays, and the deep relief engraved buttcap and trigger guard appear to have been transplanted from a Western European-made gun. The action is fully functional. This is a truly handsome pistol, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. Antique; SOLD Antique: Yes |
