Description:
This gun shows a lot of age but is still good and solid. Model 1865 marked on the lock plate and 1866 on the breech block.  36-1/2 inch barrel chambered in 50-70 Govt. caliber with a very good bore. Original sights, sling swivels and ramrod. Good clear markings. Overall metal has a gray/brown patina and a dry feeling like it has sat untouched for a long time. If you give some oil a good amount of time to penetrate, the metal may clean up. Wood has some dents and scuffs and it is still fits well. Arsenal numbers stamped on both sides of butt stock add extra character to this neat old gun.
