This is a really nice Marlin 1984 chambered in .44 Magnum/ .44 Special. This is a JM stamped gun made by the original Marlin company (Pre- Remington and Ruger manufacture). The serial number indicates a manufacture date of 1978 (Ser# 2200****). The rifle is in good condition overall with 95%+ original bluing. It does have some minor pitting in the bluing and handling marks in various spots. Most notable pitting is on the right side mag tube but it‚‚s difficult to see in the pictures. The wood is in pretty nice condition but also shows some minor handling marks. The handling marks do not detract from the appearance or function of the gun and are generally only noticeable when handling/inspecting the gun closely. The rifle features a 20\" Micro Groove barrel with full length magazine tube. The bore and rifling are in great condition. It has the standard iron sights with a rear adjustable sight and front hooded sight. The Marlin \"Bullseye\" is intact on the bottom of the buttstock. It also features Marlin‚‚s signature golden trigger and does not have the modern crossbolt safety in the receiver. Which for most people is considered unnecessary and visually unappealing.
