Description:
For your consideration, a Winchester model 70 chambered in .257 Roberts. Based on a 1952 dated model 70 action, this piece is the work of Casper, WY gunsmith, Dale Storey. Features include a tapered octagonal barrel, jeweled bolt body and magazine follower, and a 5 panel checkered bolt knob. The highly figured walnut stock is appointed with an ebony forend tip, skeletonized steel grip cap, beaded cheekpiece, and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. The action, chamber area of barrel, bottom metal, and affixed 30mm Talley scope rings share a sparse scroll motif executed by now-retired Master Engraver and Firearms Engravers Guild of America Charter Member, Gerome Glimm. .257 Roberts
