Description:
This a Remington Model 550-1 .22 cal rifle that shoots all cartridges from shorts (even CB's) to longs, to long rifle cartridges. It has a special 2 piece chamber which allows this - the only one we know of. I've used one quite effectively to shoot rats in the barn with .22 CB Shorts (in semi auto mode). This particular specimen has had the rear sight replaced with a Marbles and it has had the receiver drilled and tapped for a scope mount ( I think Weaver?). The deflection plate is missing which is common. (Replacements are available from Numrich). No serial number as it was made prior to 1968.
