Description:
Ithaca 5E NID SxS trap gun. 12 gauge 32” barrels, with raised factory vent rib.
Made around 1930, the “E” grade SxS guns were produced in limited quantities compared to the iconic 5E single barrel trap guns. Although most trap guns show quite a bit of use from high volume shooting this gun is in remarkable, completely original condition. The receiver retains over 60% faded case colors, the trigger guard 95%; the barrel blue 95% with a few light spots of surface rust on the right side near the breech and a bit of muzzle wear.
The highly figured Walnut butt stock is about 90% with a number of “handling” marks. Forearm is excellent and the checkering on both pieces is very good. 14 ½” LOP over the original factory recoil pad; 1 7/16” DAC, 1 ½” DAH with 1/8” cast on favoring a left-hand shooter.
The 32” barrels have .732” bores and chokes of .032” right & .037” left; Full/X-Full with perfect, bright bores and factory 2 ¾” chambers.
Single selective trigger which is controlled Right to Left with the safety button. (see photo).
Gun weighs 8 lbs. 7 oz.
In addition to this being a very collectible and desirable Ithaca, it is also a very relevant gun for vintage shooting events.
