Description:
HARD TO FIND MARLIN MODEL 336 SC, .30-30, 20" "SPORTING CARBINE, #H 40XXX, MADE 1951. These have gotten very difficult to locate. This was one of the very first to have the striated line receiver top which was begun in 1951. Excellent condition overall showing only very light handling/hunting wear. It does have an approx. 1/2" chip at the top of the butt plate and apparently the little bullseye inlay has fallen out- both easy to replace. Retains nearly all the blue with only some thinning to the bottom of the receiver ahead of the lever and some slight edge wear/thinning to the lower left side of the receiver- all this is very minor. Exc. wood, exc. blue on the forend cap, has the original ramped front sght with a blank filler in the rear barrel dovetail and an all steel period fully adjustable Redfield receiver sight installed in the factory holes. Tight action, solid half-cock on the hammer, exc. bore. A sharp 73 year old Marlin.
